I've studied Happehs rantings at the mature forum. Wouldn't it be a good idea to create a troll-forum? I know I (and probably many others) could go on ranting endlessly there about narrow special interests and suspect theories.

I think it is time to realize that trolling is an Aspie-trait, and as such should be encouraged on WP. If site-admins don't want it all-over, why not create a special place for it?

you mean trolling as in entering an area full of people in a certain group and acting stereotypically of that group? because i hate that.

I don't really like that idea either.

Trolls would not post in designated trolling zones; such would be a violation of their First Amendment-guaranteed free-speech rights. Trolls have every bit the right to make posts here as do nontrolling members of the community. Please remember that it takes different types to make the world go 'round.

You're kidding, right? It's a privately owned forum. Constitutional rights don't apply.

Then you should love the idea of a separate forum where you don't need to go.

That sounds like something a communist would say.

Look, the question is, do you believe in freedom of the speech or do you think we should roll over and let Osama bin Laden have his way with us? I certainly cherish my constitutional rights and use them to question the motives of those who would have them suspended, allegedly for the good of "a privately owned forum," as you say.

You have a point there, but maybe some of the more well-behaved ones would? ;-)

What is a troll? If a troll is somebody that just hangs around on the board all day and posts then I am a troll but happeh is not a troll.

By the way, I should mention that I support our troops. These brave men and women are over there away from their loved ones. Their sacrifice means so much to me as it does to each and every one of us whose heart bleeds red, white, and blue. I should have mentioned that before stating my political opinion, as this seems to be the style in politics these days.

Trolls ruin people's lives and rip them away from their loved ones. I've seen it time and time again.

President George W. Bush may be a vile creature, but he's no troll, and this I know.

I strongly disagree. Trolling is a stupid dumbshit trait characteristic of people in deperate need of a thorough ass kicking. Not an AS trait. Therefore, the best solution to trolling is to just ban their ret*d asses.

Could you be more specific? I think it is a lot of fun both to discuss with trolls and on occassion be a troll myself.

My intention was that this could become an interesting place for social communication between Aspies. Kind of like the locker-room chat of NTs.

Well, I strongly disagree to both your objection an US gun-politics.

I've not yet seen a troll that did not have considerable Aspie-traits. I've also seen trolls that obviously would have needed support being put down here on WP, and I've seen Sean being part of the process.

Free speech rights in the constitutional sense do not apply here, obviously, as this is privately owned. I don't think that trolling is necessarily inherent in our nature, but I can definitely understand the statement. We can be opinionated, occasionally arrogant, and not always sense the proper context to say things in, for better or for worse.

But I'm not sure if the idea is good. I remember on a forum I ran a long time ago we ended up having a forum called "The Arena" where nasty troll threads were moved to be duked out. I don't remember if that was successful or not. Hm.
