Come to think of it thats actually how I responded to change when I was younger too, I never cried but I had that same emotion. Thankfully I grew out of it, I think that's largly due to my short term memory getting worse with age and hence I don't build any strong expectations of things being a certain way. Once I walked through my schoolyard while my school was on fire, and even though I was walking right through the billowing clouds of smoke it never really hit me that things weren't normal, maybe because I'd already forgotten what happened ten seconds ago

I would have felt the exact same if the school was normal, or the school was bright pink

Its actually one of the AS quirks that have faded with time (most have got worse, I've literally got to the point that I have NO short term memory)
