Upon reaching the barn, Richie asked why the cow's momentum and position could not be determined. The two stablehands looked at each other, and one said,

"Well now, Berg was the Principal at the local High School. He was also somewhat of a mad scientist"
"He was also uncommonly proud of his position."
"Yes, had taken to having everyone call him Berg, Principal."
At this point in the story, Richie was still somewhat confused, and said,
"That still does not explain the non-corporeal cows."
Then one of the stablehands pointed to a sign dangling from one of the rafters. In fact, one could barely see it in the shadows of the roof. The stablehand continued to explain,
"It's simple really. You can't see the cows due to the high sign Berg, Principal put there."
