I favor legalizing pretty much all
drugs, but there are dangerous
effects which are associated with
them.

See, you don't want people wandering
the streets high on PCP. Still, those who
desire it, should be able to enjoy their high.

A matter of contained pleasure.

You understand nothing, Flagg. Imagine someone under the influence of GHB driving. That's like alcohol. What if he crashes into someone who is drug-free and kills them? Did they deserve to die because of someone else's idiotic decision? Or someone going psycho while under the influence of crystal meth or PCP? If they kill or rape someone, as a result of them legally having that drug, then who'd get the blame? The druggie, or the government for putting such legislation in place? I'd tell my bookie to put money on the government.

Person, the government isn't your nanny. You also forget just as many people die in the drug wars and tainted drugs.

And why hasn't action been taken there as well? In the countries where they're grown?

Tell me, Flagg, have you ever either taken drugs, been offered drugs at school, or known an addict?

I am an ex-Vicodin addict. It was my own fault and I ended it myself. I also abused Ritalin.

And we don't take action in those nations because that would be overstepping our authority, unless they ask for it we cannot.

That's BS, right? I thought that was just part of your House persona.

That is in no way BS, I did indeed abuse the drug. I wrecked my liver pretty well with it.

Doctor gave it to me for a severe injury at 13 and I got hooked.

Well, the government doesn't take the fall when some
drunk kills people. And, prohibition failed. Only created
the organized crime rings. Drug laws have only made
it stronger.

Regulate, but don't ban.

Anyhow, private automobiles are
along the same lines as allowing
people to walk around with guns all
the time.

It is. Hear of Columbia ever? The US is helping
to try and interdict drugs there. Supporting a corrupt
government against what HAD been a rebellion, which
was co-opted by drug lords to protect them.

This is the kind of s**t that the drug laws force
upon OTHER countries.

That is very naive thinking Flagg. Very naive.

I disagree, recreational drugs have a negative effect on society, and most should be illegal. Some drugs screw you up really bad, and it's a waste of resources, especially with state healthcare. I have always been totally against any recreational drugs apart from Caffeine and Alcohol. And alcohol should have quantity restrictions. People suffer as a result of the temporary madness caused by many drugs, and it has a negative effect on everyone. We have to say no. Drugs destroy lives, families, minds, waste money, and cause crime. How do you think the parents feel when their promising children turn to drugs? It's not just pathetic wasters, no, people who could have actually achieved something are lured into the drugs trap. Not just useless lives wasted, promising potential ruined thanks to drugs. I am strongly against it. I've lived with a drug addict for 3 years, that worthless stepfiendbrother, who was an evil scumbag addicted to all sorts of drugs. Mentally unstable, criminal, and psychotic.

The Colombian farmers should stop growing Cocaine if they want to stop having their crops destroyed!

Hooray! Someone who understands, and through actual personal experience. (While I know of no drug addicts, some of my friends do)

Of course it isn't that simple. The druglords need to be hunted down and exterminated first.

But then farmers have no excuse to grow such crap.

Unprocessed coca leaves are also commonly used in the Andean countries to make a herbal tea with mild stimulant effects similar to strong coffee.
