Pliable adaptability for me!

I was going to say rehearsed adaptability (lol) -- but it doesn't work because I miss the rehearsals.

Stay home and read. Errands are a "necessary evil."

Depends on the source. If we are talking climate, intense cold, my skin couldn't handle the intense heat from the sun.

Medieval era or classical antiquity?

I don't know what those are, but wouldn't type 2 be more superish?

what I found out about those thingies-

Type 1: The explosion resuts from sudden fusion on its surface.
Type 2: The explosion results from collapse of the core.

Type 1: The star is totally destroyed.
Type 2: The core remains intact as a black hole or neutron star.

Type 1: The mass and brightness is the consistent for each one.
Type 2: The mass and brightness vary over a wide range.

Type 1: Needs to be within the Roche lobe of a red giant star.
Type 2: Needs to be above about 3 solar masses.

Type 1: Occurs in a stellar remnant (white dwarf).
Type 2: Occurs in a giant star just after the main sequence but prior to becoming a stellar remnant.

The main difference (as in historical origin of the name) is Type 1 do not have hydrogen lines in their spectrum, Type 2 do. The reason for the spectral difference is due to a difference in origin: Type 1 supernovae are caused by a white dwarf (no hydrogen) suddenly passing the Chandrashekar mass limit and turning into a neutron star. A Type 2 is due to a star reaching the end of its life and exploding. Because the progenitor of Type 1 SN all have the same mass, they all have the same luminosity. Type 2 SN luminosity can be about anything.

anyways,

live in the future very very close to the sun's running out of hydrogen fuel
or
live in the distant past with dinosaurs and such?

Thanks, Blabbs! Based on my (superbly limited) understanding, I think Type 1 actually sound more dynamic.

Would you agree?

I would pick living in the future (odd for me, I know)...but I don't want to be eaten by a dinosaur and since we're going to die anyway it may as well be en masse without grief, when the sun explodes.

I'd rather live in the time of the Dinosaurs. I don't want to know that my death is imminent.

Same question.

Wouldn't you know your death was imminent if you lived next door to a T-Rex?

*just saying* 8)
