The deeper question is, how do you know who is worthy of your confidence?

Wow, Blabbs. That's another deep question.
I think the former but it should really be the latter, shouldn't it?

accentuating the positive and not dwelling upon the negative is a main secret of avoiding abject unhappiness. gratitude at what good there is. in a relationship that has soured, one should try to maintain gratitude that the good parts happened and are firmly engrammed into your consciousness. and the people worthy of your confidence reveal themselves by their acts over time.

kill the beast and avoid complexity?

Thank you Blabbs. You have such a way with words.

I've always been a beast killer because of fear and panic.
I'd like to try the former but I've yet to trust a beast, or myself.

prego :) In my experience, most beasts are best left to their own devices, it is the rare beast deserving of more attention than that. let father time decide.

pomegranate juice even though it reminds me of tobacco juice, because carrot juice by itself is just too astringent for me.

It's been a long time since I played baseball. I'd play but I'm not sure how much use I'd be.

Same question.

I'll choose the bass.

Would you rather learn a new instrument or learn a new language?

a language does me little good if I have nobody I know to share in it. so I will pick the musical instrument, if I could play the pedal harp as well as Harpo Marx, i'd be as happy as a pig in slop.

Learn an instrument.

Have others teach you a new skill or figure it out yourself from the ground up?

the former is a lot easier than the latter, I hadda teach myself a lot of different things and none of it was remotely easy. it was all a "long and winding road."

I appreciate the quick bootstrapping to passability that instruction offers, but it seems like it can close off some part of what a naive exploration offers.

Growth or progress?

ya got me stumped  I thought growth and progress were parallel things. but I am a progressive so I will choose the latter. unchecked growth has hazards.

I think right now I'm taking progress to mean a kind of growth that happens in accordance with some predisposition, and growth as a more uncontrolled/able idea. I'll pick growth.

Reduce, reuse, or recycle?

can't pick among them as they all belong together.

when you pass on at your appointed predestined time, choose-
conventional burial
or
cremation
or
being left atop an unlit funeral pyre, until the elements cause your corpse to gradually disappear
