My friend's mother had a lit funeral pyre on a beach in Trinidad. I wasn't there but my friend's recount made it seem very spiritual, and not frightening at all.

I used to pick #2 but I'm leaning toward #1 because it's more traditional. There's no way I'd want to risk being "scattered" as that always upsets me. I'm scattered enough as it is ( ) and that just sounds cold and lonely.
