As an aside, I subscribed to the Analog and Asimov's Science Fiction about three years ago. I used to buy it on newsstands all the time but hadn't seen it in years. I thought that maybe they had both ceased to exist.

What was most interesting to me was how much the style of the science fiction had changed. For example, a fair bit of it had storylines that involved GMOs in some way. It was quite an interesting difference.

flip of the coin for the latter, watched on a circuit-bent tv set that distorted the image in quasi-psychedelic ways, with the sound replaced with some classical music on the audio system.

I have a rather expensive led lamp. After about 15 hours total use, about 2 hours at the time in question, I reached over to shut it off, felt a bit of static electric discharge between me and the lamp, and it hasn't worked again.
