(I agree about theology, it always struck me as a house of cards. Instead of openly looking for truth is has 'beliefs' as its foundations - preconditions which compromise its ability to seek the truth).

I like Eastern philosophy but find Western philosophy somewhat dry and shallow.

Yes, not much, but some of the things ('they' say) master K'oeng has said, (what was it?... about 3000 years ago?) I think, are spot on right. Confucius said for instance (in my own word); 'don't do to another what you wish not to be done to yourself'. Top drawer wisdom, I say.... all ethics should start there. Also some of the teachings of Buddha strike me.... 'man, him/herself, is cause of his own suffering.... this due to his'/her's own craving'.... Just beautiful, I think.

Um, actually, I don't know what NGE is, I don't know anything about anime, and I never actually watched Twin Peaks.

No, I like to do both depending on the mood. I tend to cook things like pasta dishes, lasagne etc and hot curries or Chinese stir fries.
