Sunwapta River - The Sunwapta River is a major tributary of the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada.

Tromsø. City in northern Norway, nicknamed The Paris of the North. Ever since the 1800's ships have arrived at its harbor by the Atlantic, and it was known for being fashionable, and a trade center for Russians, Frenchmen, Germans and people from western Norway (Bergen).

Upper Peninsula of Michigan - The northern one of the two sections of land making up Michigan. Those who live there are known as Yoopers.

Van Duzen River - The Van Duzen River is a river on the north coast of California.

Wind River Range - a range of the Rocky Mountains in western Wyoming.

Xingu River - The Xingu River is a 1, 640 km (1, 019 miles) river in north Brazil.

Yekaterinburg: the fourth most populous city in Russia (approx. 1.4 million), near the border between the European and Asian parts of the country. Named after the Tsarina Catherine 1, Empress of Russia 1725-27. It was here that the last Tsar, Nicholas II and his family, were imprisoned and murdered by the revolutionaries in 1918.

Zambia - Zambia is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, neighbouring the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west.

So I guess maybe I'll go ahead and post an 'A' and then break protocol by also posting a 'B'.

The Azores -- nine volcanic islands in the Atlantic that comprise a region of Portugal.

Now, breaking protocol, here's:

Bastoy Island, Norway -- near Oslo, Norway, the home of a very unusual prison. There are no barbed wire walls or fences around the island to keep the prisoners in. The prisoners live in small houses and have jobs in areas such as agriculture, cooking, store keeping, and even operating ferry boats. The prisoners wake up on their own and fix their own breakfast and supper.

Dry Harbour Mountains - A mountain range in Jamaica that is more like a plateau.

East Claydon - East Claydon is a village and is also a civil parish in the Aylesbury Vale district of Buckinghamshire, England.

Føroyar/Færøerne/Faroe/Færøyene Islands - an archipelago near Denmark and Norway -- once part of Norway now part of Denmark.

Glamorgan or, sometimes, Glamorganshire (Welsh: Morgannwg) or Sir Forgannwg is one of the thirteen historic counties of Wales and a former administrative county of Wales.
