I decided to retake this quiz, because I've been reading a lot about the history of Europe, and it worked cos I got 141/144 this time. I've read so much about Yugoslavia, the Balkans are no longer difficult for me!

Im probably the only one who knew kalinengrad.

The Russian Town of Kalinengrad is realy the German Town of Koningsberg.

That odd little slice of land around kalinengrad between poland and latvia (thats still part of russia) was part of a long chunk of land along the baltic coast that was part of Germany - but was ceded to Poland after wwII.- except for that little piece that was ceded to the USSR ( Stalin and Hitler divied up all of poland on the eve of the war- after the war stalin kept his huge eastern chunk of Poland but gave poland a generous slice of Germany).
Now that the USSR has broken up and the former Soviet Republic of Latvia is Free of Moscow- you have that odd piece of land around kalinengrad thats still Russian but is no longer contiguous with Russian territory- a russian coastal enclave thats really a piece of Germany!

144 out of 144. I love learning about countries and politics, etc. so it wasn't surprising.

The only one I had difficulty with was Kosovo, since that isn't usually on most maps. But I knew it was somewhere near Serbia.

I was almost ok with them. For me it was the former Eastern Europe/Albania/Bulgaria that were my downfall

143 out of 144. I would've gotten Kalingrad, but the test asked, "Where is Kalingrad (Russia)?" I thought it referred to all of Russia, so I clicked Russia. I don't think it was intelligent on the test maker's part to include Kalingrad, because Kalingrad is not a nation. If you argue that referring to a region of a nation is a good way to find out more about it, then why was Kalingrad the only region of a nation on the test, and the rest of the answers were nations?
