I have indeed been stuck in the position of my avatar. Gnerally when it goes wrong though, I am in a crumpled heap on the floor. I do use cushions if I am practicing anything too tricky.

Cushions are good to have, especially when you're on the ice. (Isn't the Moomin on some ice in that picture?)

Upside down or not, stuck or not, that's still my favorite Moominpicture yet.

I'm getting the hang of it slowly enviro, let's not try to make things too tricky just yet. I only put the pole on 'spinning mode' when I am feeling brave right now, otherwise centrifugal force tends to throw me across the room.

Oh no, it's only 1 PM here, early afternoon. Hard to believe sometimes that we're less than 25% of the earth's circumference apart, in terms of time zones!

I had the impression it was a lake somehow or other; is it not frozen though?

I'm pretty sure it's the edge of a lake, and Moomin is doing a handstand. You know, I might have to drag the book out and read the story again to check.

Lakes... two months from now and our lakes will be frozen up. And I really have to choose between

(a) crank start my Volga
(b) take a bus
