Why would you want to try to drink potatoes?

Beats me. I prefer eating them. Jacket potato with butter and cheese. Yummy.

*Googles jacket potato*

Ah, a baked potato, you mean. Yes, that is good - especially if you add bacon in with the cheese.

Yes, jacket = baked. Sometimes I forget to translate my posts into American before I write.

I'm not fond of bacon. Ex-vegetarian. :)

You don't have to do that! I happen to love eating jackets. Ex-Textilevore.

I've never thought of looking at Moomin's avatar upside down. Thanks for the tip!

Theta, I think silk would go down better. And lingerie would be easier on the digestion than jackets, at least for a beginner.

With footwear, I'd suggest starting with slippers before graduating to hiking boots.

Actually, jacket potato is a term used in Finnish in the format, "The potatoes took off their jackets", referring to them just being ready to be eaten. I think the same is true in several languages.

Ah, they dress down to be eaten. Although they are very nice with their jackets on, especially if made crisp by rubbing olive oil on them.

Funny - people used to dress up to eat, but when they were on the menu themselves, I'm sure the naked tribespeople removed the outer layers of the explorer before dinner. Or did they perhaps wrap the herbs and spices in the explorer's jacket?

Ugh, what a horrible thought.

Although I'm still rather distracted by the picture of enviro eating silk underwear.

Uh-ha. There are some to rent, especially in summertime. If you want one in Lapland, I think you should consult the Rovaniemi Tourist Board. They are plenty, and when you say you're from New Zealand, I think you will get the one you most wanted.

This link is a good place to start. Then just click on the town name; some of them have a site in English.

They're practically right next** to each other! :D

** by "right next to" I of course mean "at almost polar opposite ends of the Earth from" :P
