So, how close were you? :P

Not close at all. I was saying something close to Skill-pad-day. I know better now though. :)

I'm glad the videos were helpful! :)
I actually thought an English-speaking person would have pronounced it "skill-pad".

I said I dance, I didn't say I dance well. Actually my coordination is ok. The thing that kills me is learning routines. Putting one thing after another in order just doesn't work for me. All the parts get jumbled up in my head. It takes me at least three times longer than anyone else to learn a routine. I have to get to the part where I have done it so many times that my body knows what to do, even when my brain has shut down.

You most definitely do better than me then! Not that it's hard  I have a serious case of two left feet. And my coordination could be better.
I very much recognize the problems I had with dancing in music class in school in what you said about not remembering the routine. I had no natural skill and it didn't help that I didn't take much interest in it either.

Oh, and you wanted more turtle words.....

Italian : tartaruga acquatica ('tartaruga' is a tortoise - do you like those too?)
Finnish : merikilpikonna (tortoise is just kilpikonna). I had to look this one up, for some reason they don't teach 'turtle' at the beginning of my Finnish course. :P

Thank you!! :D I have added them to my turtle library. :)
They don't start with teaching what 'turtle' is? Tsk-tsk! :P

Yes, I like tortoises too! They're so cute! Just like this little guy

Possibly they would, but I have looked at enough foreign languages to make a different guess to most monolingual people. I'm lacking in Scandinavian languages, which was why I still guessed wrong though. :P

Duolingo (the language website I am on) is releasing Swedish very shortly. I'm tempted to look at that, but I will probably wait until there is a Norwegian course for my first Scandinavian language. :D

It would be very nice indeed if your first Scandinavian language is Norwegian! :D

And who better to teach her than you? :D

Send her some Norwegian comic strips!

Are comic strips such as Peanuts translated into Norwegian?

Yes, Peanuts (Knøttene) have appeared in Norwegian from time to time. I don't think anyone currently publishes them; they have been printed in the newspaper Aftenposten in the past, and decades ago they were published in pocket books.

But others are, like Mutts, Zits, Pearls before swine, Tundra etc, and some Norwegian comics are good too, like Nemi and Kollektivet.
Of course 'good' is a matter of taste...

I shall have to look up Knøttene when the time comes. I like to have extra reading material to practice with, and I am a big fan of Snoopy. 8)

Oh Snoopy was so cute! He's called Sniff in the Norwegian version but I always referred to him as Snoopy because that's the name I heard first. I even called a toy dog I had (still have) Snoopy, despite it looking like white Dachshund because it's snout was similar.

I had a Snoopy money box when I was growing up, I'm sure that is what encouraged me to be such a good saver. 8)

I've got a lot of stuff going on, I'm not going to be around much for the next few weeks.

Sorry guys, I know it sucks when you come here and there is no one to talk to.
