Yes the Byzantines fell to the Ottomans... but the fall of Constantinople was due to the superior numbers of enemy soldiers. Byzantium had only 10,000 troops defending it, but it took the Ottomans 200,000 troops to defeat the defenders... which is nothing to boast about. If the numbers were reversed, that would be something to boast about... but when you need to use a 20 to 1 ratio to defeat your enemy... that speaks more highly of your enemy.
