It means either quite or absolutely.

Thanks Erminea and Sallamandrina. The phrase has bugged me for ages. I keep hearing it on French television but knew they were not meaning the words literally.

I win by the way.

Can't you watch TV5 'monde' where you are? They tend to subtitle programs either in a different language (English, German, Dutch) but also with French ones. French films with French subtitle/ sous titres, je pense (TT page.... yeah, what was it again? My provider of TV channels do not broadcast TV5 'monde' anymore = bugger)

We've got TNT which is 18 French TV channels. Some Brits who moved here have satellite dishes so they can still get British television but I decided not to do that - listening to French TV is very helpful for us to learn the language. It is getting easier now and I understand a lot of what is being said. I'm also reading lots of French. However I get very little practice writing or talking French. I'm learning to like the language.

Sorry, not allowed. I'm the only winner - it says so in the rule book page 87 paragraph 3.

Have you read the whole rule book? (in the French language?)

Ping, I win.

Maybe we should start a thread for folks that wish to learn the, indeed beautiful, French language a little. Il y a peuple de France ici et autres qui connaître le langue. Mais comment? How to make it appealing for folks to post? No idea.

(maybe trying to translate, sentence by sentence, a short fairy tail or a fable (by J. de la Fontaine) from French to English, for instance)(maybe Lemon, Zena, Sallamandrina, others could help here a bit, correcting stuff)

Peut être, far fetched.

In the meantime, I pwn you again.

Because, you know, we've all been waiting for that...

Yep. It's an achievement, indeed.

But that doesn't stop from him being pwned by yours truly.

A winner will always be me.
