There will ultimately be a final winner, it is just a case of sticking it out and hoping that the mod or Alex that closes it (or the site) doesn't post a final win to it first.

... Three mile wide asteroid detected... it will hit Earth and destroy all life... you have three minutes to live... what do you do?

I'll post on this thread with my last gasp just before the Earth explodes. I'll die happily knowing I've won.

Anyway... what do you mean you'll evacuate? Have you got a secret spacecraft stowed away? Is there something you haven't told us?

"Evacuate" in this sense is medical. A spacecraft would be nice though. Or perhaps a rail gun to break up the asteroid?

Evacuate.

But ain't you a ghost in a machine, would be impossible for anything to happen to you unless someone dialed ghostbusters

In seriousness if an asteroid was going to destroy Earth I'd just go outside and watch it in wonder. It's been a few billion years since I was last hit with one, though I did have a narrow miss in Tunguska.

Before that would happen, I would just take a rocket, don't care how much it would cost and fly off to the moon... who wants to come?

I win anyway.

Perhaps they would be called "we aren't here yet". When anyone does colonize the moon, maybe they'll be called "miners".
