Oh yeah, I heard that on the radio a couple months ago. The world is scheduled to end in May, 2012, I forget the exact date. Jesus is coming back and all that. Hmm.

I actually heard on the radio that "the end is near" - the fact that the gulf is turning red is proof.

But on the upside, this certain person would see to it that you got first class tickets through the pearly gates for a relatively small donation compared to the size of the event.

I had some lovely broccoli for evening meal today - picked fresh from my garden. It is starting to bolt though due to the lack of rain. Only had a couple of millimetres here for weeks. Maybe a storm tomorrow - I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Very dry here as well. Can't you tabwater(<the verb ) your garden? Yes, you can probably. Well, I do it every evening and double dose the plants in pots.

Cool you grow your own vegetables. Some herbs and some fruit plants here. Oh, a tomato plant in a pot as well. Way better tasting than the ones one buys in a store (here).

There is a well on the property but it is a long distance from the garden (needs two long hoses joined end to end and two power extension reels to the pump) but the garden is too big to water like this very often.
Last time I did so it took several hours.

Wow, it's been too late for broccoli here for months. Very hot and dry here, too. Looking to Saturday for possible thundershowers.

Garden cucumber & tomatoes for supper tonight.

Almost finished the mange-tout now. The runner beans are almost ready. Courgettes are producing nicely. The onions are ripening well and fattening up. Endless supply of potatoes. Had some tasty little turnips. Carrots, parsnip, Swiss chard, beetroot, lettuce all doing well. Sweetcorn got some tassels on top now.
