Yes, they aren't subtle about it either. Like a blunt pin being rammed into your skin. Thankfully they fly really slow and often circle a few times before landing, giving the game away. When I see one I pause and wait for it to land on my arm/leg then whack it. There seems to be a plague of them this year, I'm especially wary when near the neighbours cattle. They must be getting bitten to death. The bites often carry infections too.
