Um, mosquitoes win. (sixth itching mosquito swells this year up till now) (bugger)

What use have mosquitoes on this planet, I wonder.... they're just f*peep*g.... argh.

Do find insects fascinating but some of them.... annoy the heck out of me. Fruit flies, mosquitoes, some other type of flies, wasps and ticks (are they considered insects?). Not acquainted with horse flies though. Sounds quite buggery indeed.

Um, insects win.... for they've been around way longer than humans did and will be when....

Horse flies are a bit larger than a house fly and more clumsy and are easier to swat. After landing on skin you have approx 2 seconds to swat them or they bite. It feels like having a blunt pin jabbed into your skin. Apparently they literally do bite a small piece of flesh out. There is then the danger of infection - they carry all manner of bacteria etc.
