Not a lot. Still counting. Still programming. Still learning French, soon be looking for more work here in France. What's new with you? I guess it's all different since you got married?

Not completely different. Life is a lot better though. Being married is rather cool though, especially since my wife is such a wonderful lady. I'm back in college again, in the accounting program again, which I'm just going to get through prioritizing for high grades rather than attempting to read the impossible reading lists for everything. Like my brother-in-law said, you can do two things in college: learn OR get good grades. This is true since the opportunity cost of time for studying is in opposition to the opportunity cost of time of all the written assignments and Excel spreadsheets and there's just not enough time per week in the 168 hours available to do both. It's sort of why I like studying on my own better: I have plenty of time to study and understand everything rather than merely rushing through to make an arbitrary deadline. I've also been pestering employers in my area, but as always they are "fully staffed" and "don't need any help" and some even send nice little postcards which in effect say "thank you for your interest in working for us, but we aren't interested in you."

Good luck with the studies (I know it isn't luck but rather lots of work, so just an expression). Hope it all works out. It is worthwhile keeping pestering the employers though. It doesn't matter how many "no"s you get if you eventually get one "yes".

About to get a lot more stress as soon as school starts. I need to encourage my wife to do her homework also, and such is sometime difficult when she has crappy instructors or is otherwise having a bad day. I don't want to be too pushy, but I also don't want her to fall behind.

I don't so much enjoy being unemployed, especially since the longer I am the longer amount of time, called an "employment gap", I have to explain. Sometimes I just want to say, "my employment gap is so long because of hiring managers who get hung up about my employment gap."
