When I was in grad school in math, I often handled the labs for the numerical analysis course. Each lab included writing a program and a short (two or three page) lab report explaining the program and the results and their accuracy. One of my students turned in a lab report that had the word "iterate" spelled differently every time he used it -- about ten different times in the report. I asked him about it and he said that he didn't know how to spell it, but figured he would get it correct once in the report.
