got tired of blinking all the time, so had his eyelids surgically removed and replaced
with a permanent set of contact lenses.
However, these got dirty very quickly, so he had two tiny sets of wind-shield wipers installed,
which go off every 99 seconds,
and bother him even more than the blinking did.

always gets "petard" and "petarde" confused, which changes the imagery of "hoist with his own petard" to something (almost?) completely different.
