@ Cornflake: I've been getting a lot of error messages lately when trying to post images - is it just me or is it a WP glitch? By the time I get to post, someone else has already posted the next letter!!

Not complaining really - just trying to let off a bit of accumulated vapour.. maybe I'll have better luck next time!

If it's the notorious "smilies error" or "error in posting", I've not had Krabo's suggestion of providing the image size inside the BBCode "img" tags fail to fix that for me even once.
It seems that with certain jpeg images the forum software is unable to work out the size for itself, hence the errors - probably because the jpeg image format standard changed a few times after the forum code was written, so there are likely to be aspects of some images that it knows nothing about and is unable to display without additional help. (and it's how I was able to get babybird's image above to display)

Fed up with the paucity of "X" subjects, going with "Y" instead. (not much better, but still...)
