I'm afraid a large bodies of water. I feel like i will fall in or the ship will sink and i'll drown or get eaten by a sea monster.

I did have that fear, but there's always lifeboats. I'm more afraid of falling from a tall building, or more specifically, the building collapsing suddenly.

Yes, but they have their own supply lines and all that, and operate inland. Plus in the US they're at least 400,000 strong. Though you are right, they are a branch as Marine Corps suggests.
