Hey people.

I noticed we've got a lot of small forum games around here, but I've been wanting to do something a bit bigger in scope, without being overly complicated. I thought about the werewolf game, also known as the mafia game, which I usually play whenever I'm with a big enough crowd (not as often as I'd like lol). I'll describe it as concise as my long-windedness will let me, and if I see enough people are interested I would describe the rules with more depth.

The players of this game can either be werewolfs or peasants. It is chosen at random, at the beginning of the game. Some of the peasants will have an special role, which will let them get more knowledge or influence the game in some way. The game works in rounds following a day-night cycle, starting at night. There, the werewolfs decide which villager do they want to eat that night, privately. That person will be dead the next day, and then all villagers, peasants and werewolves alike, will vote for whoever could be more likely to be a werewolf, and the one with the most votes will be lynched, and die. That is probably the most fun part of the game, because all players will be here in the forums accusing each other, the werewolves will be trying to put the blame on someone else, while the villagers strive to get the right person.

This cycle will go on as many times as necessary, until there are either no werewolves or no villagers.

Now that I got started, I might as well talk about the special roles the peasants can have.

The Witch. She's got two potions, which can each be used only once. One will instantly kill anyone she chooses, while the other one will save the life of any player she chooses.

The Scryer. Once per day/night cycle, he can ask the GM about one of the players, and he will know werther he is a werewolf or a peasant.

Love. He may choose two players, who will become the lovers. Then, he acts like a normal peasant.

The lovers: This role comes additional to whichever one they had before. They like each other so much that if one of them dies, the grief will consume the other. They must watch each other's backs, consequently. In the case one of them is a peasant and the other a werewolf, a third winning condition is added, where they are the only two people remaining.

Now, about the logistics, or how much effort will you have to put on this? Not much. There needs to be a GM, which will be me, who will know the roles of everyone, keep track of everything and say when each round begins and ends. He cannot be a player at the same time. Here, it would be me :D .

The werewolves will need to PM me so I can know who they decide to eat, by majority vote. If they want to talk among themselves for better organization it's fine. Love will tell me once the people he chooses for being lovers, I will let them know. And I'll be in touch with the Witch and the Scryer rather frequently, as the witch will need to know each night's victim, and the Scryer will be asking me each round about the nature of any of the players. The rest, is all in the forums, so if you get a lowly peasant you can take some comfort into knowing that you don't have to worry about logistics, and can just enjoy the game

So... volunteers? :D

I'd be willing to play. The "kill'em all and let god sort'em out" philosophy is kind of interesting.

Three people already :D. Talk about unexpected revival.

A bare minimum of 6 is required, not counting myself. The more the merrier, but we're already halfway through.
