Where Should I live until I get my inheritance?
Hi yall,
I would like to move out of my parents home possibly years from now. My parents would most likely die after I move out or I could just live with them till I get married or they pass. I have grown tired of living with my folks for various reasons. I have been exploring various housing arrangements I can live in the interim period between me moving out and their deaths. I cant afford a 30 year mortgage or an apartment. I have been looking into other options.
One option is to just live in hotel month to month since they can be cheaper than rent and also because of no credit check and no deposit and no lease needed. Another option is to buy a used tiny home or used mobile home or used 5th Wheel or Travel Trailer or Old FEMA Trailer for 10,000 dollars or less. I figure I could possibly buy used RV and put it in a RV park.
However I like the idea of of maybe buying 1 to 10 acres of land in the country and living there until I start my community with my friends in the interim period. However I would most likely have to wait until I live on the at least 100 acre colony with my friends because I dont have experience living in a rural area by myself. My dad may bankroll the 100 acre ranch purchase and he may let me convert it into my colony in rural Texas.
I figure I can get a used FEMA trailer for under 1,000 dollars. I am budgeting 10,000 or less for the tiny home or FEMA trailer or mobile home or RV and there would be other stuff I may have to have done like adding a tornado shelter and that sort of thing. I have about 150,000 dollars in retirement and I should inherit 3 to 5 Million after my parents die. I once bought a used FEMA trailer for 200 dollars but I wont get to use that one....long story lol. I guess I could just live somewhere with a bunch of roomies in apartment or rent house. The other option is to live on Section 8 but thats a last resort. I just want to be independent before I get too old but I still want to save for retirement. I currently save 500 to 800 dollars a month in retirement. I like the idea of living on my own land. What option sounds the best to you?I would make sure the FEMA trailer has safe air quality levels.
