Believe her, she's right you don't want to click on it. I couldn't help it , curiosity got me and wished now that I didn't. Noticed though they are making fun of Steve Jobs death. That pretty much sums up the value of the site, more than anything else in my opinion.

Well what were you expecting, a complaint form to fill out?

No matter what a person says they should never be punished by government, or forced into litigation.

I would agree as long as they are following legal requirements, but if someone that posts there breaks the law, and someone takes recourse, they have every right to pursue their legal rights as well.

I doubt anyone takes that site seriously other than the type of people that post on it, and enjoy vicarious bullying through parody; it's kind of like trying to bully someone by putting a mean note in a bottle, putting it in the ocean, and trying to impact the victim. Makes the bully feel good, but has absolutely no impact on the victim, if they are never aware of the intended assault on their character.

Whomever runs the site, may be having a good time, but it's not a respectable venture that they are involved in; I wouldn't want it on my resume.

As others have said: ED is just a place for people to be douches, and posting their "oh I'm so harsh and offensive I'm so funneh" brand of satire jokes. That's their humor, and though I think it's a pathetic form of humor, it's a joke by people with nothing better to do. I just stay away from the site because I find it stupid.

Also, I think most people don't take ED seriously.

Very well put Fnord. I could not have said it better. The reason I titled my response as it is, is because of the scripture that says not to waste your breath on people who don't want to hear what you have to share. I think it is equally said in dealing with hateful people. Don't waste your valuable time and effort in giving them the satisfaction of making you angry.

Realistically their is nothing you can do legally as they are a celebrated political incorrectness. For every evil their is an opposite and equal evil however. Political correctness has become an evil in itself. I have met so many self hating people who are trying to correct mistakes made by their ancestors who may not or may have been guilty of. Often people use hate speech as a means to spread their own hate and bigotry which makes them no better than the supposed offender in the beginning. It is also a means to make a quick buck through unethical means. People call race like a pop cultural thing all the while actually causing racism to get worse as they are confessing a persons ethnicity actually creates a fundamental difference. Last I checked we are called the human "race". The idea should be simple without trying to complicate it.

The reason I bring this is up is because I do not believe a lawsuit is suited and hate speech laws are oxymoron that promote subtle racism. Before you know it religion and free speech will be illegal because the government will label your ideas as being hateful and arrest you for it. Hate speech laws are a weapon the government should never be allowed to get a hold of.

As for the sadists,shock has become a popular topic in American culture as trauma has become a lucrative venture. Many Americans are addicted to trauma and has become a sadist/masochist culture bent on destroying one another with a smile. It is a sickness developed in a culture that does not know how to cope with the multiple traumas that meld into the melting pot. Not only does our cultures come together but so do the traumas. People like Encyclopedia dramatica which is actually new to me are merely addicted to each others misery and not to be taken seriously as their deficiency is a psychosis. Let them stew in their own diseased cesspool of human error and in time they will destroy each other. Laugh at them even. Laughter is the medicine of the soul. I strongly recommend staying away from the site all together as if it were the plaque because metaphorically thought patterns of that nature are contagious and diseased. These people are miserable so pity them.

Encyclopedia Dramatica is offensive and vulgar but it is parody. It is protected speech.

Meh, MysteryBot (I think it's functioning by now surely) would have auto-reverted the article from vandalism and logged your Username and IP Address for the Sysops to read. Hope you used a proxy lol, but relax, usually repeat offenders only attract their attention. It's usually one of the bigger reasons why people get ED articles get written about them.

And that is what I call the ostrich technique! Put your head in the sand and it will go away. One doesn't just sit on their hands, be optimistic and hope bad things will go away. You treat them like what they are, to be ridiculed, bombarded by questions, pulled apart at the seams. And of course we can just let the law throw the book at them.

When you allow bigots a roof over their heads even if it is in the service of pure psychopathy (lulz as they call it) you give them a base from which to attack innocents. You run them out and you help people. To think otherwise is just selfish self-preservation once you realize this.

And one should also expect freedom from discrimination. Otherwise one sinks back to the times when freedoms did not exist by allowing freedom to some but not to others.

And then they use it against others and it becomes an opinion that threatens more people than you. Not much imagination here.

If anyone says the offended page is satire or anything of that kind then they are completely insane. Why? look at it. Only a person who was deceiving themselves could look at that with pride or indeed a lack of disgust.

Kinda agree with you there......that was just quite disgusting, glad I closed the page before I saw much of that disgustingness, someone really has no life and obvously has no clue that satire is supposed to be funny.
