I think it's increasingly important to make distinctions between allistics (those who are not autistic) and neurotypicals (those who fit into western society's narrow definition of "normal"). Schizophrenics, for example, are mostly allistic, but are not what I would describe as neurotypical. I think it's a distinction that is clear to some but not all on these forums.

You need a simple explanation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurodiversity you need to understand it and make it your own.
Is there really a true neurotypical?
I would speculated during the last 10000 or so years we have had an expansion of neurodiversity.
And America has a heighten numbers of neurodiversity because of the conditions involved in immigration.

Now this could be kind of offensive or stereotypical but I explain it like being LGBT or any popularly discussed form of diversity. Like ADHD, autism, Aspergers, bipolar, schizophrenia, developmental disability, are all ways brains are made, just like being gay, bi, straight, poly etc are different ways that people love people. And that none of these is worse than the other any more than any skin color is worse or better than any other.
