Aghogday, the attributions, to me personally, involved in your latest battalion of straw man arguments is so presumptive as to be outright offensive, please desist from the presumption...and while we are on the subject, submission to Autism Speaks is not a recognised attribute of:

*Maturity
*Intelligence
*Fitness to govern
*Sexual Prowess (cos you are bound to try that one on sooner or later)

I do not care whether your are a blind fanatic, or the kind of third rate online PR consultant that Autism Speaks utter contempt for us as people dictates is all we deserve. Your actual argument has always been a very simple one:
We must accept, adapt and submit to Autism Speaks

That argument has no basis in fact, as a result, every single thing you have said on the subject amounts to an invalid premise for your argument. (the manipulative forms of argument you use in lieu of valid premise closely resemble the forms Jehovah's Witnesses are trained from adolescence to use - absent any factual support for their case).

We certainly do *NOT* have to accept, adapt and submit to *ANY* organisation, much less one that is consistently hostile to our best interests, and determinedly ignorant of our needs like "Autism Speaks".

What is more, I do not think we ever really will.

...and I do not think anyone had to have a clear view of how Germany should be run to condemn the Nazis outright, nor a fully formed idea of what religious faith should be to reject the "Children of God" sect.

There is no need to accept a bad thing just because we have not worked out what the optimal thing should be yet.

Autism Speaks is a vanity charity set up by two Grandparents which is now out of control, and determined to exercise invasive, dysfunctional control over every aspect of all of our lives, by hook or by crook, without even lip service to our wishes on the subject.

We would want to be either totally corrupt and well bribed, or completely off our heads, to support that now or ever.

I have made no personal attacks on you only your statement that I see as a fallacious statement that autism speaks does no positive good for Autistic people that I have provided clear evidence that refutes that statement. And as I have stated clearly, I have no problem if it is your personal opinion, I refute it for others that may see a false statement that sounds like a statement of fact, so they will not be mislead by the statement that I have proven to be fallacious. In my opinion I stated it may be a rigid way of thinking, but you have expressed the same to me.

If you find that offensive, I will desist, but if that is your tolerance for offense, I now ask you to desist from personal attacks on me, continuing to suggest that I am part of the Autism Speaks organization as I am clearly telling you now for the third time, that I am not part of that organization for the third time. I have clearly stated to you several times that I have never suggested.

I have clearly stated time and time again that my only suggestion to autistic people is to provide constructive criticism to the organization for improvements that may make the lives better for autism people.

I have never suggested that anyone must have any association what so ever to Autism Speaks; I find it offensive that you continue to state that I have said that, so I ask to you know to disist from misrepresenting what I am saying when I have clearly identified my position that my only suggestion is that people provide constructive crticism to the organization. That's a suggestion, not a must.

Other than that it looks like you are giving a negative opinion of the organization, here, not stating things as fact that aren't true like the organization does nothing positive for autistic people. I see that as an improvement. And again, if that's just your opinion, while I think it is ridiculous, you have a right to it.

Cut out the straw man BS Aghogday...

You know perfectly well that my offence with you is taken to your persistent freehand misrepresentations of what I have actually said...and I do not think going on to misrepresent the cause of my offence is any kind of answer to it.

Again, my only disagreement with you is on your opinions and some of your statements that I see have no basis in fact. If I have misrepresented something you said, point out the specific misrepresentation and I will correct it. If you can quote any statement that I have made where I have suggested that anyone here must support the Autism Speaks organization, point it out and I will correct it, otherwise, as I have asked you once before, please desist from misrepresenting my statements and stop portraying me as someone that is part of the Autism Speaks organization, when I have clearly stated that I'm not.

You know, perfectly well, without me having to point it out, that you consistently misrepresent what I have actually said. I have told you that your misrepresentations of what I have said are becoming offensive in their own right.

...and all the red herrings and idiotic counter accusations on earth will not change that.

I haven't knowingly misrepresented anything you have said. I suggested you were with ASAN, because of specific statements you made, accepted your clarification you weren't, and never brought it up again.

You on the other hand continue to suggest I am with The Autism Speaks organization, when I have clarified to you that I am not several times. Again, point out any misrepresentations of statements I have made in repeating your statements or opinions, and I will correct them. I have no idea where I have misrepresented any of them.

And, you have called other people here that are more challenged than you names like fruitbat, and have suggested that they are a twit because they have not mastered communication.

That is something that Autism Speaks would never do to an Autistic person. It is a mistake, and not acceptable on a website that Supports Autistic people. I take personal offense to that because I think it is a cruel thing to do this to a person that is understood to have learning disabilities associated with Autism.

I bring it up not only to call you on it, but in hopes, that anyone else that reads this might think twice before they do something similar to another autistic individual here.

Aghogday...cut the cr*p...we both know every single post you have made referring to me has deliberately distorted something I have said...presumably for the benefit of an *audience* that you do not seem to realise, tuned out a very long time ago.

(PS NB the new tactic "injured innocence" )

Regardless the right to treatment development is unalienable. The politics of organizations cannot alienate them. I've seen some videos of autism speaks, some of their website and some people online talking about them. I do not believe from what I've seen they have done anything clearly intending to harm someone other the philosophical and perceptual differences and people playing victims of one another with words concerning views of autism solely. However when the likes of you want to take out your disgust for a political side out on my organization an iron PR fist will come down because it's seems allot like genuine hate to me regardless of the issues. Enough odds are stacked up against equal employment already I don't need no autism community civil war in which one side like the confederate did failed to realize the war was over and kept fighting. Many of these issues seems societaly where relevant resolved to the point that positivity is a benefit and applicable disorder label negativity for treatment in itself is wrong headed and taboo to seek to evade.

As I stated before, if I have distorted anything you have said, I will be happy to correct it, if you will provide those specific misrepresentations that you suggest that I have made.

Otherwise, I have made my best attempt not to misrepresent any of your statements, during the course of this whole dialogue, even though I have strongly disagreed with a few things you have said. I'm human though, and have the potential of erring, that's why I invite you to present any mistakes I may have made that I am not aware of.

I'm not sure how one keeps track of the audience here other than the views listed on the topic; last I noticed it was over 3000; even if one person reads what is said here and has the opportunity to gain some facts, or understand some clarifications on what is said here, it's worth the effort.

We've covered some interesting issues here between the two topics of whether or not Autism Speaks is listening to the criticism they have received in the past from autistic people. Many related to Autism politics, not directly related to Autism Speaks:

1.The coming crisis of several hundred thousand children, entering the adultworld that likely will need assistance to live, as they leave the homes of their family.

2. Costs of care for autistic people that are disabled and have to have assistance to survive within society.

3. Improving the living assistance that is available.

4. Alternative residential care programs like Farmsteads.

5. Potential contigencies in the future, if social programs are cut that permanently disabled autistic people rely on.

6. Information on organizations other than Autism Speaks that are of potential assistance to autistic people.

7. An interesting new camp program that Autism Speaks provided last year; the pros and cons of camps for autistic children.

8. A discussion on whether or not some Autistic people can break the stereotype that they don't do well in groups.

9. The neurodiversity movement; the pros and cons of it.

10. The social vs medical model for those that are disabled.

11. The pros and cons of the ASAN organization.

12. The pros and cons of the Autism Speaks organization.

13. Resources on the general disability rights movement.

14. The advantages of providing constructive criticism to Autism Speaks to help other Autistic people

Many interesting contributions of substance that I see made during the discussion. I've learned some things of interest, I didn't know before.

You've shared some valuable information specific to the issues of resources to the AANE organization, that many might not been aware of; you've provided interesting information on residential care costs of Autism in Ireland; brought up the need to improve housing opportunities and care for autistic people; just what I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there are more. I've enjoyed the positive input to the conversation that you have presented.

Without your prescence here, I doubt the housing/care crisis for the future, specific areas where autism speaks aids autistic people with financial aid, and some of the other interesting information would have been discussed. Thanks for your input and sticking with the conversation as long as you have. We don't learn much if all we do is agree.

Wall to wall distortion...

Some, even most, of it inversions of everything I have said...but there is not much chance of anyone taking that seriously.

You can knock yourself out trying to twist every word I have said...and show ci how to "put women in their place" until doomsday for all I care, I don't think there is any real risk of you making any real "converts for Autism Speaks", and you gave yourself away so I know what I came to find out now.

You will just have to wait and see how that turns out. It's more fun that way.

I don't see why being women has anything to do with it. Yet at the same time when asked for certain input you don't provide any input. Obviously you want to preserve your side, not compromise and be rigid. If you are a women as this is the internet with no visual confirmation or previous notion as I didn't look at your profile I'd have to say it has nothing to do with the conversation other then making it part of the dispute to somehow insinuate because I disagree with you I hate women .Few fall for that sort of thing anyways and it makes real gender political claims seem less valid when they are very valid.
