Communication skills are not very useful outside of Marketing, Media, Advertising. I have not noticed the world was being run by English Majors.

Slick copy may get an "A", but content is what reaches the mind of another. Because autistic people are well known for communication problems, it defines autism, replacing them with English Majors loses the message.

As McCluan said, "The media is the message." Removing the autistic from the media, throws out the message.

Autism Speaks gets enough problems from being the voice of autism, but they do raise a lot of money. At least they do not pretend to be autistic.

The well spoken, written, unemployed English Major trying to organize support for them to be hired as the Autism Lobby, detracts from the reality of autism.

It is like having an upper income golfer leaning on his Mercedes convertable, looking in the camera, and talking about poverty. "The answer to poverty is simple, give me a tax reduction, more in my pocket, and I will deal with the problem."

I created a thread especially for those eager to participate in the battle of wits, so now please stick to the topic and don't forget the rules of conduct.

It doesn't matter what sort of education one has to be honest as long as they have a basic one. The fact is though is that one actually needs to not make irrelevant arguments about the people you are being criticized by to be a successful advocate of any worthy cause.

Foot in mouth again?

Are you deranged? I don't know how that could make less sense, be more snide or be more irrelevant.

I am just saying you have no room to talk with concern to me as you are guilty and in the same context of many things you accuse me of. Just it's so obvious it's like saying someone has a foot in their mouth. A double standard.

If you won't stick to the topic and won't post without resorting to the ad homs, I'll close this one as well.

No I am not. I never insulted you, and I never then said that you shouldn't insult people directly and I never then said you were a hypocrite for insulting me. I said you shouldn't speculate on my personal life. I have a retort but I think it isn't appropriate any more. This forum is riven with conflict spewing from your inability to take even an inch of what I say.

I;m sorry but the selective memory to favor a current view of the circumstances you wish to project won't get this conversation anywhere. If you want to be civil and nice toward me I will do the same toward you. Just going after really positive accomplishments without constructive attempts to help just seems down right mean to me.

Locking some of these threads for now.

The petty disputing between members is getting beyond ridiculous, and has to stop.
