A long time ago I made the realization. The key to superior intellect is autism.

well idk you seem to write articles on all the forums i've looked at. at least all the big ones. and you wrote a book that does ok didn't you. i mean i guess you're just a celeb within our little community. but yeah that would be why people are interested in what you do and it angered a lot to extremes when they percieved you to be going towards autism speaks

I haven't written a book yet. I'm writing one. John Elder Robison is writing the forward. I was only diagnosed like 4 months ago. I'm nobody special, I just work really, really hard. You can go to the link in my signature to find a lot more information.

Hard work my friend. Hard work. I've written for Wrong Planet, AFF, Autism Speaks, Heartspring and ASPEN. Also a few magazines. I speak publicly as well.

I've managed to accomplish quite a lot in a few short months. Before my diagnosis I was a hopelessly depressed junkie bum.

You truly can do anything you set your mind to if you believe in yourself, work hard, and maintain a positive attitude.

You're only 15? You can go far dude. Just work hard and believe in yourself.

Yeah maybe. I've done good writing, but not during the school year. I get too stressed and there isn't enough time. But maybe I'll start during winter break.

Favoring Autism Speaks?

I do not think so. In fact, getting to know them brings out more questions.

I used to defend them when claims were made about T Shirts and web sites. Why? Because they were not guilty of any offense. Also, those making the claim were. A false attack blocks a real one.

I never tried it but several reports from the old days here said, I went to Autism Speaks, said I was autistic, and was banned and blocked.

That was worthy of complaint. We have also had activists come to Wrong Planet, who were just rude troublemakers, and they were not around after a while.

Complaints about Genetic Research, which I favor, much more than is being done, I defend, the Science, as I find it makes good reading. There is nothing scary about knowledge, ignorance is scary.

Statatistics, in general a form of lies, and none of my demands for clarification have brought a response. 600% more things have been called Autism!

According to the Chinese web site, American is suffering an epidemic of Autism, showing a 600% increase that cannot be explained by better testing. They got this from Autism Speaks.

Autism and ASD are used and interchanged. Fine for Empire building, not so good for people trying to understand their small group.

I have gotten numbers from 3,000,000, down to 150,000 Asperger's.

Perhaps Asperger's and HFA are 10%, it seems much more on Wrong planet. They are not non verbal.

Compared to the Autism Speaks version, Wrong Planet is Borderline Neurotypical.

It still has problems, and they are not minor compared to a non verbal person with an IQ of less than 70. They are problems, real, and if we stand on our toes we can see over the wall. We want in to the world.

Some of us get there, it can happen. A complete study of all autistic genomes will not help us. It may not help anyone, it may help some in years to come, but we can see the world now.

The goals of Boderline Neurotypicals are as John Robison said about his son, getting him the tools to survive in the world now.

The problems of other autistics, non verbal, head banging, low IQ, are just as real, deserve research and treatment, but they are not the only game in town.

They need a lot, I hope they get it, Borderline Neurotypicals need a little, I hope they get it.

Politics and Public Relations, saving Aspies from themselves, would be a better face on the poster. Hopelessness, does bring in money, successful treatment brings hope.

Tamborine Man could be, if not cured, at least mentored. Alex and John Robison have both seen him as worth some effort. Autism Speaks is only testing their new message on him, it is more about them.

Our main problem is being one of a kind. It can get isolating, Just having others around, some personal goals, some group goals, makes a world.

It is what I like about Wrong Planet, I never had a peer group.

I have only been following Tamborine Man's progress since AFF.

His writing is liked, and Alex brought him in for Autism TV. The Hackathon was an overload, he was too hyped to start with, but he almost survived, took some deep breaths, and is back.

This Borderline Human only needed a little support to focus his energy on a worthwhile project. I know the deal and finding you have anything in common with anyone is a shock. More shocking, people want him to be himself!

I think he has great talent as a writer, mixing the personal with the report on what is going on. Others see the same, and want to further his work.

He has worked his way inside the Autism Speaks ChiCom Axis, and his questions cannot be stopped at this point. I do not think they are evil, from their track record it seems they do not think out the results of their actions.

A Public opinion Poll, should a very large database of American DNA be turned over to the Government of China? I think public opinion would be strongly against.

It would come out the same if the question was about our Science future, our high tech jobs, or sending them more money.

This is a potential public relations nightmare, China is asserting it's military, there is the potential for conflict, there have been questions about the recent Flus that had pig, bird, human, DNA, some never before seen mixes, that some considered manufactured tests for Biological Warfare.

Our Department of Defense, our Defense Contractors, many Corportions are getting hacked and it is coming from China. DNA is dual use technology.

China has been probing for weaknesses, Computers, Millitary, Economic, and Health. There have been recent conflicts with Japan, Viet Nam, Phillipines, over ocean rights. We have mutual defense treaties with all of them. There is a lot of oil in the South China Sea.

The next Flu outbreak could come during a time of tension, it would be claimed as intentional, and the Autism Speaks DNA Database the smoking gun.

Betting the Autism Farm on International Politics is risky.

Another thing I've noticed is that a lot of guests on Autism Talk TV are strongly related to Autism Speaks. Yeah I know it's co-sponsored so technically it's fair enough, but how about interviewing/hosting people on there who are not directly or indirectly related to Autism Speaks in any way for a change.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Let's have some balance.

Not sure if KenG would want to, but I do recommend him for a spot. I saw his response to the Autism Speaks interview and he's the best candidate to restore balance.

About a third of the guests, or less, are from Autism Speaks. If you watch the new episode on the homepage you will see an interview with an autistic individual regularly employed by them.

Balance is best, of course, but they are sponsoring the show, so it is inevitable that some of the guests will be members.

i agree that this site is definitely in need of an interview with KenG, that would be a great idea. sigh, an autistic opinion for once?

For of against, does not cover it. A Media Machine on Message, and those who say everything they say is wrong.

Both are locked into a point of view, and the questions in the middle, What is Autism? If broken into groups what would they be like, how many in each group, what types of treatment are possible for each?

Self Advocates seem to be verbal, Internet rude, seek conflict, and have no data to back up their view.

Autism Speaks throws out lots of data to back their ever changing message, that everything is Autism, and even if we stop using Cure, Eradicate, you know what we mean.

Before these Political Wars spilled over onto Wrong Planet, we used to discuss What is Autism, at our various levels of function and understanding, from rules of Social Interaction, to some debates about Human Genetics.

Mostly it was good spirited with an actual willingness to learn from each other, and respect for other points of view.

We had earned a reputation for being one of the most polite, intelligent, and helpful places on the web.

Avocacy disturbed our world, demanding that we march over grandmothers in the street, for the greater glory of their psychopathic ego.

As of late, it seems threads are being hyjacked by endless two person fake arguments, hair spliting about word use, or what might have been posted on some other site years ago. As I recall the TOS, discusing other sites, bringing in their dirty linen, was forbidden.

It is disruptive, and always erupts on threads of some political topics.

This thread, Stop Bashing Autism Speaks, are over run with pages of off point two person blanking out of the local content.

The tactic is common, keep a political consensus from forming by off topic misdirection.

I do not think much of Advoactes or Autism Speaks, Autism Speaks does come a bit closer to the real world, where Autism is a social, personal, Genetic, differance, with a wide range. I still think they miss the point that nothing they are talking about is going to do any of us any good, and our concerns were dismissed, because there was real important work to be done by thier Science Staff. Now they want to be seen as listening to select hand picked Autistics.

They will even let us help, give our ideas to HP, known for being idea short, for export to China. Anything that would be good for autistics, would also sell in many other markets.

I have often said we are a natural think tank, our long term value to the species, and now they want to harvest that for free.

All I have for HP is the question, Why is your Market Cap down by half?

To our years of trying to speak to them were rejected. Our questions about how all of their brain power and money could improve our lives were ignored, and we were told we were not the Real Autism, because we could speak.

All of these people, Advocates of one form of terror or another are not my friends, they just want to harness me to thier plow, to till their field, for their benefit.

We do not need self elected leaders, Corportions to claim us, for they have had years and produced nothing. There is not a single idea to improve our lives from any of them. All they have are ideas for improving their lives, image, income, by manipulating us.
