Dollar General and Autism Speaks

Dollar General has partnered with Autism Speaks, providing coupons with Autism Speaks literature, as well as accepting donations.

They do not have any Autism Speaks literature on their website that I could find, but here's their contact form:

(Regardless of whatever your personal view on Autism Speaks may be, I feel it's appropriate to at least thank them for supporting autism assistance and awareness.

Not only do I not thank businesses that cooperate with Autistm Speaks, I choose to take my business elsewhere.

Add Toys R Us to that list (but Dollar General sells Mountain Dew too cheaply for me to stage a personal boycott). However, a boycott does no good if you don't inform them of the reason (and if you do, they may choose not to help autism related charities again).

the overall message of Autism Speaks as a curebie, abort those carrying genetic marker organization. They merely see the word "Autism" and see a pr bonanza. that's all.

caseys general stores are also doing dollar donations for autism speaks. they askes me to buy one i told them what they were all about. needless to say i kept my dollar

Well, the only Dollar General I know is back where I used to live, and since I don't live there anymore it's one place I can avoid.

As it is, DG's stuff is mostly crap anyways, it's why they can get away with selling things for a dollar and still turn a profit. Nothing there is worth more than a dollar most likely.
