Hey all!

I found this website and pages after looking for the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency (I live where there's not much sun!). It says the following quotes:

"Dr. Sallie Bernard and her colleagues, in a study titled, "Autism: A Unique Type of Mercury Poisoning," describe the speech difficulties, unusual behavior (such as unprovoked crying spells and head banging), various degrees of cognitive impairment, gastrointestinal difficulties, and immune difficulties that these autistic children can have."

"Autism was discovered in 1943, in American children, twelve years after ethyl mercury (thimerosal) was added to the pertussis vaccine."

"In a typical case, shortly before his 2nd birthday a normally developing, healthy boy stops communicating with others and withdraws into himself. He avoids eye contact and becomes strange and aloof. His vision becomes blurred; and he develops various motor disturbances, such as involuntary jerking of the arms and legs and walking on his toes."

From a chemist's viewpoint it's BS...but good for a laugh. Sorry if you guys have already seen this site!

There are 3 phases to matter. So could have become mercury oxide(g). Good read by the way, like to have atleast a general idea on health affecting things found around the world.

And from an aspie's point of view, I'm pretty sure I had it before I had my first filling. And I'm pretty sure I had my first vaccine at age 5..I remember it, I was also crazy from the day I was born according to the folks. You could argue that my mum's got mercury fillings in her teeth so when she was pregnant with me I got the mercury from that...but wouldn't my mum have it too? *facepalm* I always enjoy reading pseudoscience, it's a great past time of mine ;)

They have to make something where they can melt the mercury out of fish or take it out somehow. Maybe they don't want to break the butterfly affect of everything.

Eat river fish that you fish yourself! It's fun and mercury free. OK so I only genuinely agree with the fun part. I think the MMR vaccine controversy is interesting because I was vaccinated by it when it was first introduced with the mercury preservative....1989 ahaha so I can just say to people 'sorry...i have mercury poisoning' :P

You can't de mercuryfy fish, it doesn't have enough in there to be a worry anyway, unless you live close to a mercury or other heavy metal source (like me...I live near an old mine...no local fish for me!). Besides, fish is yum anyway and there are much more dangerous things to eat :P

sounds about right, for example a standard gold ring (18 ct?) will lose about 10-50 micrograms per day when worn.

anyone got a link to the actual research paper? the one this guy wrote: http://www.nitrf.org/recentpub.html

I can't believe people still believe this s**t. I really want to force them to read Ben Goldacre or Paul Offit.
