Hi,

I am trying to compile a list of quotes from famous autistic adults that have explicitly stated that they don't want to be "cured" from autism.

I know Temple Grandin, Ari Ne'eman, Alex Plank have all expressed views that they don't want to be cured. Any other famous personalities? Where can I find their quotes? Short YouTube videos would be great, too (like Alex's recent video.) I would like to assemble a list of quotes and post it to my website.

I just realized that my message may have come out stronger than intended. While I certainly don't think autism should be "cured," I do fully support the development of people with autism, through true communication. To me, autism is a communication problem, and we develop all individuals by properly communicating with them, in their language. So, my position is: development and growth, yes. Cure, no.

Autistic people can be miscommunicated to the point of becoming underdeveloped, yes. Underdevelopment is a concern. But we should address the development and communication issues, and not view autism as an illness. At least as much as possible. That is my point.

Susan Boyle does not specifically say she does not want to be cured but her point of view is neurodiverse

I like this. The goal of Susan's documentary is to show people the inside of what it's like being Aspie.
