First off thanks to ASAN for reporting this and actually caring about these boys. With that said F**K YOU MARYLAND!! !

This always happens, "Oh it was so hard to be their caretaker!" Guess what, people can help, just ask for help and we'll give it. I think even Autism $peaks would have helped you out. But no, abuse and murder seem to be the only solution for the mentally disabled, as if it's some kind of mercy for them. Well guess what, it isn't a mercy you sick f**ks it's a monstrous solution to a problem. Whoever the land's lawyer is he should be ashamed of himself for the words he said and be glad I don't know where they live.

Anyone thinking of an online petition? It's a longshot, but more awareness is needed.

Also, I can't trust NT-run courts or police.

Same. A lot of their "authority" is based on stereotyping and prejudice.

I would sign your petition, if anything, to speak out against the gross injustice.

How the prosecutor was not disbarred is absolutely disgusting. The comments and justifications are simply inhuman.

The fact that the parents, not only aren't in jail, didn't get any form of punishment, but still have the right to visit them... Light's blade what a world we live in.

I don't know about Montegomery, but Arlington and Fairfax are some of the few locations in Virginia to be mostly Democrat.
Rural Virginia is Republican, nearly everywhere else is 50-50 and NORVA(Northern Virginia) is strongly democrat. If it weren't for them, Virginia's massive amounts of political power would constantly go to the Republicans instead of being a massive variable on the political balance.

The Prosecutor can only do so much. To win, he'd have to override the the opinions of a lot of people who probably know nothing about autism except horror stories.

Rhetoric is the art of finding the best possible method to persuade an audience. Even the best rhetor can give the best possible persuasions to the audience and still have it be ineffective.

In this case you've got a family that is probably well known, higher middle class, and respected. You've got an ignorant jury that is filled with biased and probably dehumanizing notions. And the judge could also be biased and keep the case headed a specific direction.

Maybe the prosecutor wasn't any good either, but even if a good and passionate prosecutor took this case it would be a very difficult case.

Your post bugs the s**t out of me too. No, they threw the case, have a read of some of his comments. Not only did he throw the case, but he acted as a defence attorney. So, two defence attorneys, and no prosecutor. And instead of them being disbarred , you're going to have people saying "Well, they were found innocent under the justice system, justice has played its course."

Apparently the furniture was removed because it was soiled. So, it was better in the minds of the parents to have them sleep on a soiled floor.

These conditions were substandard for even farm animals.
