"A Birmingham artist Rozagy (pronounced Roza-Gee) who was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome 3 years ago has pledged to raise 1 million pounds in 2 years for autism charities across the country.

So far she's raised just over £ 6,000 through her and her son's art sold to benefit autism charities. As a founding member of Autistic culture movement UK with Scottish artist Peter Howson, Rozagy is asking others to join her in her creative quest to help change lives of people on the autistic spectrum": http://www.emaxhealth.com/1/119/29132/a ... ement.html

Thank you for the link - now I should like to look at her art. KenG: I have a book titled Artism: Art By Those With Autism you might like. And proceeds to facilitate those with autism.
I think my favorite (in this book) is Remco Rink, Dutch painter. He has an uncanny painting titled 'Brain' that actually looks 3-dimensional and includes neuroanatomical detail that I know from neuroscience (ICC) imagery! Remco is awesome.

Also, WP has many artists. I checked out millie's site - incredibly talented; she's great and with an unforgettable style! Stephen Wiltshire is a perennial favorite too.

I like your posts about current news/issues, and autistic art - thank you.

Quasi PM: I am interested in Autreat for this year. I checked your link about Autscape (sp?) and this is near London - too far (ie: expensive) for me travel. But I think Autreat has a yearly gathering in the U.S.A., yes? I shall try to Google and find details - if you happen to know perhaps you can let me (& all WP inhabitants) know too.

Autreat 2009's call for proposals is at the top of this very forum, since November: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt83057.html
Registration for Autreat 2009 should start in March.
You are invited to join Autreat's information mailing list: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/autreatinfo/
