I like the L.A. Kings jersey of today; the colors are an homage to the Gretzky years; but their purple and gold jerseys from the pre-Gretzky era are eye-catching as well. (True fact: The reason the Kings colors were purple and gold for their first 21 years was because the team was founded by the same man who also owned the L.A. Lakers at the time- Jack Kent Cooke.)

I like the old purple Kings jerseys except for the fact that they're ugly as ****. Although I do have to say just black and white is kinda a bland color pallet.

They also have a touch of silver, too.

OK, I now have the current Kings jersey. It looks great on me!

Anybody place ice hockey before?

Electronically yes, but not in real life it's not cold enough here for lakes to freeze in order to play for free.

Speaking of going to a game, I will be going to a live game this week against the Canucks in the AAC. * got it thanks to my mom's Christmas raffle at work. * :)
Hopefully it will go better than last time I went against the Blue Jackets. * crosses fingers to appease the Hockey Gods *

Hockey is my second favorite sport after baseball, actually. It's so much better to go to an NHL game in person, that's when I really fell in love. I'm from Minnesota, probably the US state most obsessed with it, so my first team is the Wild. But going to school and falling in love with NorCal has had me rooting for the Sharks a lot too, with the added bonus of them having always been the team that does a lot of player transactions with the Wild - now it's Brent Burns and Martin Havlat on the Sharks.

Both of these teams have shown some serious upside this year, but especially the problem with the Wild is they need to be more consistent and stop losing upwards of 4, 5, 6 games in a row. When we're good, we play as one of the best in the Western Conference; when we're bad, it's enough to knock us out of the top 8 spots.

It feels really weird that there is that huge gap down the West Coast between Vancouver and San Jose with no NHL teams. Maybe all of these teams in the south that are pretty awful, hardly ever compete or draw a lot of fans - Stars, Predators, Panthers, Hurricanes, so on - should fill the vacancies in a further northern place like Seattle or Portland, not to mention all the places in Canada desperate for an NHL team - Saskatchewan, Québec City, Nova Scotia - just a thought about what an awful commissioner Gary Bettman is.

I saw the Winter Classic on TV yesterday! It was awesome! Won't be able to go to any in person, unfortunately. Of course I intend to watch the Stadium Series on TV though.

I don't, but I see your avatar is of Ness, on an unrelated note. :D

Haha thanks, Earthbound definitely has a special place in me. I'll bet that Ness is a hockey fan if he's got any taste whatsoever.

He could also be a Canadian Football League fan, too. :D

Has anybody seen the Stanley Cup Finals lately? My goodness, both games went to at least one OT period......... Kings have a 2-0 advantage in the series! Who woulda thought we'd be in for a real epic of a series?

No, I have not watch it. To be honest I don't care for either team to win the cup. However, I did watch the beginning of the playoffs because Dallas made it in for the first time in five years. :) * only to be kicked out in the first round. *

I am a Ducks fan then we they were eliminated and then I wanted Montreal but they were eliminated and so I wanted the Rangers but I see now wishing they would win is most likely futile.
