Muscle cramps can also be due to a lack of Magnesium, specially calf cramps. Magnesium helps regulate muscle contraction. Someone mentioned bananas for potassium, they also have magnesium, worth a try.

I was taught a general rule of thumb is you drink 20 swallows of water when you have a bowel movement and 10 swallows when you pee. While a lack of magnesium and electrolytes can cause cramps, so can dehydration.
