No doubt about that - always better to see a game live. I just wish tickets around here didn't cost a fortune to get...

Are you talking about Toronto?

Where else? It's crazy trying to get into the ACC for a game.

I just wanted to be sure, and yeah Leaf games are hard to get. Considering hockey routinely sells out, and they are the most expensive in the league. 8O

Routinely sells outs? That's the understatement of the year. Our season's ticket waiting list is literally estimated to be at least 20 years long.

Which begs the question, if hockey is such big deal in Canada. Why are there fewer Canadian teams in the NHL then the U.S.? * and avoiding the obvious answer of Bettman *

It's because of - oh, wait, you already excluded the obvious answer...

But no, in all honesty, it's all about market size. There's 10 times as many people in the States as in Canada, so even though hockey is regarded as less popular there , the number of hockey fans in the two countries is actually somewhat similar. Then you have to factor in that because Canada's so big geographically, there's not that many cities with people clustered in densely enough to support a franchise.

Regardless though, there are a couple teams in the US *cough*PhoenixandFlorida*cough* that have no business existing.

I do think, however, that Los Angeles should keep its team. They've done well for themselves (the Stanley Cup last year can't hurt, either)!

Absolutely. Unlike some of the people up here, I don't blindly hate all the Southern teams - and I get that if we want hockey to be a major sport it has to have a presence in many parts of the US, including the south. However, there are a couple of exceptions. Phoenix, obviously, is a complete mess and I think it would actually helps things out a lot in Florida if there was only one team in the state instead of trying to make 2 work there.

That was exactly what I was thinking, Phoenix is a mess over there. To this day I will never understand why Florida has two teams. Tampa Bay sure, it has a Stanley Cup along with Lecavalier, Stamkos, and St. Louis. They are big stars in the NHL, but then you look at the Florida Panthers. What exactly do they have?

I also think San Jose also deserves theirs too (even though I am a Kings fan! XD)

San Jose is a good team. I was referring to teams that don't do well, have poor attendance, and are constantly playing in the red.

Right. Florida and Phoenix, namely.

OK, I will always support my boys. But seriously, will someone give them a clue??? Bobs just won in a shootout, Emery started out

Now the Kings and 'Nucks have the same # of points......

BTW, if the Nucks win the SC in 2013, will they put an asterisk by the title due to the shortened season?

There's no asterisk beside the Devils from 95, so I doubt it.

With that said, though, if the Canucks win I'm all for putting an asterisk there.

P.S. Greygirl, I have to say that's a rule that I think refuses to ever be broken. For years now for some reason, any goalie that ends up in Philly is instantly terrible.

Sob. You're right. It's the curse of Lindbergh. (I din't believe in curses BTW, I just think they will forever look for a goalie just like him and there will never be one)
