Today was the first day of practice of the Mugen Saki Cancer Benefit Race. The track was a little cold and a little loose. But I managed. Tomorrow is qualifying.

I am qualified 5th right now in Nitro Sedan in the Mugen Seiki Cancer Benefit. It is supposed to rain tomorrow but I will keep you updated. Thank you.

The Mugen Seiki Cancer Benefit race has been canceled due to rain. Their are no main events today. So my final overall postop is 5th. The race report will follow.

Hello everyone. I have finished the race report, however it is not very long due to the fact that the race was cut short due to rain, but atlas here it is. I hope you enjoy it.


Mugen Seiki Cancer Benefit race, November 18-20 2011


During the first day of practice, the track was a little “green” (where the traction on the track is low or is inconsistent). My dad and I spent most of the day tuning the engine and the car; we got a little bit of help from our racing friends, to help get our engine in shape. The next day was the first round of qualifying.

In the first round of qualifying, the track had much more grip and my car was fast but it was inconsistent. My fastest lap of the race weekend was in this round but I ran out of fuel with 30 seconds to go. The next round I would have to hit the pits early just to make the five minutes. I did. My fastest lap was 4 tenths of a second slower but I had my fastest overall time of the race weekend. My third round of qualifying was slower, but only by 8 tenths of second. At the end of the day I placed 5th overall. The forecast for the last qualifier and the main event was not looking good because there was a 95% chance of rain for tomorrow.

On Sunday, the forecast did not lie and it did rain around 10 am and the track became soaking wet, and the race had to be canceled. My final position would still be 5th. Everyone pitched in and helped tear down the track in record time then everyone got to the awards ceremony which was under a tent. Awards were given to 1st to 3rd so I did not get a trophy but I had a great time and my dad and I got our car handling well. My next race will be the 24th Annual Toys for Tots race, December 9-11th 2011

The 24th annual Toys For Tots race has begun today. I am qualified 3rd. The mains start tomorrow.

I have finished 3rd overall in the Toys for tots race. I had a good time. I will work on the race report.

24th annual Toys for Tots race, Gardena, CA, USA, December 10-11 2011.

My dad and I practiced all day Friday for the big race. 3 days before the race, my mom and I went to shop for toys for the race because this is a charity race for an organization called “Toys for Tots”. It’s an organization in the United States that collects donated toys for poor/needy/disadvantaged children and gives the toys to the children, in their communities nation-wide. Every racer pitched in a donated two toys that were worth 10 US dollars. After the race were collected up by Los Angeles Fire Department and taken on a fire truck to a place where the toys would be driven to a place where the children would receive them. I also won concourse for 1/10th Scale sedan, which made me feel happy.

Qualifier 1

This would be my best qualifier all weekend long. I battled it out with the front runner and I was able to get past the driver who won the California Golden State Series and then I focused on the front runner. Me and him were like on a rubber band and were he would pull away one lap and I would reel him in on another. On the last lap the leader ran out of fuel with one lap to go and I passed him to take the TQ honor, I was psyched!

Qualifier 2-3

The next two qualifiers, the two fastest drivers that I beat would step up their A game in both qualifiers even thought I stepped up mine as well. They would out qualify me but I ended up qualifying third less than 3 seconds behind the leader.


A main final

8 minutes before my race was up, I tripped on a nail that connected the track as I was running back from fixing the track, and I scraped the bottom palms of my hands. I had some friends help me out with getting the first-aid kit out and cleaned my wounds and then they were bandaged. So I had to operate the car with scraped up hands.

As I took my final warm up lap my dad told me to bring the car in to be fueled up then taken to the backstretch to the starting grid. After that announcer told the pitmen to fuel the cars up, place them down and the tone started and the race began. I got off to sluggish start off the line and as I was coming into the middle of the infield, my car bounced up and down a bit and then traction rolled; this sent me to 8th place. I was able to move my way up the field up to 4th place. I was in an intense battle, with the driver in front of me, and made a brilliant pass on him in the middle of the chicane. One of the other racers in second place had a malfunction in his car and dropped out of the race and this moved me up to second. With 10 minutes to go into the race my brakes became shot and I had to drive the car with little or no brakes for the entire race. As I was coming into the pits to refuel, my brakes did not slow me down fast enough and I hit the metal disk to the entrance to the pit and rolled over on the other side of the barrier. My dad yelled at the turn marshal to put my car into the pits, on the other side, but he was confused and did not know what to do with my car so I had to go all the way around again going into the pits and be refueled. During the second to last pit stop, as I was being refueled again, the zip-tie loop that connected to the fuel lid broke and my dad really had a hard time trying to refuel the car again and this dropped me down to 3rd, and that is how I finished the race. Even though I could have done better I still felt happy with the result. I am looking forward to the 2012 racing year for nitro sedan.

Tomorrow is practice for the Jack Holmes 80th Birthday. Grand Prix. My dad and I are work on the car and getting it ready for the race.

I am in 2nd place right now for qualifying in the Jack Holmes Grand Prix. Today is one more round of qualifying and the A main.

I ended up qualifying 3rd and finishing 3rd in the A main. I will get to work on the race report.

Jack Holmes 80th Birthday Race, January 6-8 2012. Gardena, CA

The Jack Holmes 80th Birthday race was a celebration of an 80 year old racer from Las Vegas, Nevada named Jack Holmes who travels up to Los Angeles to race at the GLARCRC racing club. He sponsored the race all weekend long and the race had cake and pizza Sunday on his birthday. The race turnout was a little low but still everyone was in good sprits and was having a great time. I also won concourse again for the second time in a row.

Qualifying, Rounds 1-3


The first round started off good for me and I came in second place while running out of fuel after I crossed the finish line. The second I didn’t do as well, my car was very loose on power turning left and I ran out of fuel before I crossed the finish line. In the third qualifier, the top qualifier decided to sit out the last qualifying round for the day, and I would win the last qualifier. However my car was still ill handling and I spun out coming into the sweeper but I was able to hang on to it but I could not get TQ position.

Qualifying, Round 4

This time there were more racers who joined the race that weekend because they had work to contend with, however I was able to maintain a third place position for the A main. I was feeling content coming into the A main final.


A main

The race started off with me getting a good lead on 4th, then with a minute in toot the race the top qualifier, drops out of the race with mechanical issues and puts me in second. Jonathan Prather, who is behind me, is battling with me for 2nd. I try to hold him off, but as we are coming into the “S” curves. He hits me from the rear and rolls me over and he goes by. Luckily, I am able to get back on all four of my tires and get back into the race. On my third pits stop, after I am refueled and I drive out of the pits. My car stalls and my dad has to rush to get the car fired up again. This happens again on my forth pit stop. On my fifth pit stop, one of my Xray racing teammates tells me to keep the throttle engaged halfway while my dad refuels me to prevent the car from stalling. It worked all the way to the end. I would end up taking 3rd overall; it was my second podium in a row.

Today is the Aliso Viejo Tamiya Championship Series race. I am competing in the GT-1 class. This is where the best of the best compete. The most skilled drivers compete in this class including former national champions. I will keep you posted on how well I'm doing throughout the day.

In the 1st round, I ended up qualifying 3rd. In the second round I got taken out at the start and now I am qualified 5th. Up now is the A main. I will let you know how the race turns out.
