What's your sleep pattern ? Do you sleep regularly at night ? How many hours ? Are you refreshed or tired when you wake up ? I ask because lately it seems like I have less need for sleep, I rarely feel sleepy when I should and so I often go on all night, then sometimes I fall asleep at 5/6 AM to wake up at 11/12 half stoned. Maybe it's the anxiety related to my job, maybe the videogame addiction, don't know, sometimes I try to go to bed anyway like at midnight even if I feel 100 % awake, and in fact I never manage to fall asleep. What's your situation in this area ?

I usually fall asleep between 12am and 2am, and wake up at 7:50 for work. I am usually refreshed enough for a day's work, but it takes a while to wake up. Showering in the morning helps a lot with that.

I can catch up on weekends, but that's more a want than a need.

I find my brain is more active after the sun goes down, and I believe (however misguided this may be) that the sun is noisy and affects my thinking. So at around 9pm I am very productive. Unfortunately, my spouse goes to bed at 10pm, so I usually end up sitting in bed reading news on my phone for two or more hours.

I made it a New Year resolution to get off "graveyard" shift. I'm not a good day sleeper and have done this for over five years now. I've reached the pointe where I have to drug myself unconscious with several Benadryl tablets and various pain killers just to try to get several hours sleep between around noon and 8 P.M. What usually happens is that I wake up after three or four hours of deep sleep needing to go to the bathroom and when I get back to bed it often takes me over an hour to get back to sleep, even with all the meds I've taken. I try not to drink a lot of fluids in the morning, still I'm ready to ask my doctor for a Foley catheter prescription so my bladder won't wake me up anymore.
-OR-
I'm hoping I can someday rearrange my work schedule so that I can go back to the good old days of sleeping from around 2 AM to 10 AM, as I too have most of my energy in the evenings and am at my lowest level around 6 AM. I would love an EVENING shift again.

Lately I've been going to sleep between 6 and 8 am and getting out of bed around 3 and 6 pm.

I worked swing-shift briely once -- was a perfect fit to my natural clock. I usually sleep from about 3am until about 11am.

Oddest thing last night: I got into bed at 11pm and didn't do my usual reading until late, and then I couldn't sleep until 5am. Got up at 8 and felt fine. I don't feel like I normally would after three hours, so I dunno ...
