I will be 21 in september. I am 5'10 1/2 and it fustrating becaue I wan't to make to 6ft. I am not that far of it but I wish would just squeeze about 1 inch more of height.

Here is my height family history.
Dad 5'10 1/2
Mum 5'2
Mums mum 5'3
Mums farther 5'8
Dads farther 5'10 1/2
Dads 1st brother 5'7 1/2
Dads 2nd brother 5'10 1/2

Do you think I could make it to 6ft or not?

I use a gravity inversion table to stretch things out a bit for relief of back pain, but I do not know whether some extended use might do anything for you ...

One thing I recommend (and I haven't really got much traction on as far as other people seconding the idea) is tight, defensive boxing to a draw. To a draw because you're really not trying to humiliate anyone, yes, you will graciously accept a win, but you'd almost prefer a draw. And interesting dynamic, the person who picked on you and starting the fight, because you showed decent strength, may later try and become your friend (and you can decide whether you want to accept this person and take the initial and medium steps of friendship).

So the boxing for the bu**sh** school fights and bar fights. Martial arts for the more serious stuff. You're hoping not to have to use either one, walk away from a fight if you can, all that good stuff, but it's nice having them if you need them. And it does give you a certain level of confidence.

leejosepho is of course joking (I hope!) I think this is the case in which you clearly want to work with a natural process, not wage war against it. Age 21, and you have reached your father's height, you probably are at the tail end of your growth, although maybe just a little more.

I don't understand why this is even important. Besides, few people stop growing at 20, so you could easily gain another inch or so in height between now and the time you turn thirty. Don't sweat it, it ain't gonna make you any more virile or better looking, and it won't keep your hair from falling out. :P

Oh, and the inversion table is not a joke, but it would probably only get you a quarter inch or so at best and that would be temporary, as gravity would eventually mash ya back down again. It will make you feel a bit better, if you're suffering any back pain from vertebral compression, but alas, unlike a good massage it does not come with a happy ending.

More on boxing: I often do well a few indiviual lessons at the beginning, a break where I do my own thing in a gym, then the occasional lesson. And post-concussion syndrome is real. Please don't take a bunch of blows to the head. I recommend at the beginning, just matter-of-factly tell the instructor 'I don't want to take a bunch of blows to the head.'

At age 16 I was 5'9 1/2. I was a big kid for my age at 13 standing almost 5'7. My growth slowed down though.

I'd love to be 6'2 but I think 6ft is a more realistic goal. 6'4 it would be incredible.

You wont know until you stop growing unfortunately. Since you have a mixture of tall and short genes, it is really hard to tell. There are some height prediction calculators online. Here are a few:
Height Predictor 1
About.com Predictor
another one
I put my parents' heights in these and I got an accurate height. I had to think back when I was a kid for the first one and put in the stats I remember last- like when I was 14, but it came out to be within a half inch of my height!

I think 5'10" is fine- it is around average in the US. I think most of the men I have dated in the past were around this height. Since the average woman is 5'4" to 5'5" you would likely seem tall to any women you date.

obviously it is different for everyone but i think most men stop growing around 20 or before. I don't think i have grown since i was 18 or younger and most of my friends are the same. Height does earn you respect which is sad but it is not that important. especially seeing as you are probably taller than average.
