Due to my desire to cease communication human beings (in person), I am deciding to become Nocturnal during the weekends. I am unsure how this will effect my week, so I shall try it this week.

Is there any other people using WP that are Nocturnal?

I used to be entirely nocturnal, getting up at sundown and going to bed within a few hours of dawn. The silence was delightful. There's something that feels quieter even if you can't hear the difference.

I would do all of my grocery shopping at 24-hour stores (I still do groceries after 1 AM on my way home from my evening shifts). I used 24-hour Wal-Marts for everything else. I'd go out into parks in rural areas, or take walks . . . I avoided all people and I was able to live a full life. I delivered newspapers from 2-6 AM part of the time, didn't work for another, and finally worked at a 24-hour restaurant. When I was also in school, I took a combination of 7-10 pm classes during bright months, 6-9 PM in winter, and sometimes one-hour 7, 8, or even 9 AM classes.

I really enjoyed it except for the work options. However, my bio clock prefers that I sleep in the small hours of the morning, so I had to give it up.

How peaceful. It is a shame in New Zealand that the only 24 hour shops are McDonalds and Night and Day Store, both of which are vile, and they both sell items I seldom use!

I'd love to be nocturnal. I'm naturally a night owl. I find it hard to function in the mornings, I'm much more alert at night. But I have a society and a family to fit in with, lol.

I would probably be nocturnal if I could. I am always most alert at night-that's when I do all my homework. I take awhile to get up on the morning as well.

I'm sure I read somewhere that we tend to have an inverted cortisol rhythm. Low level in the morning, high level at night. That would cause the effects we're talking about.
