melatonin and flucloxacillin is it safe to take both at the same time?

i have been taken melatonin sleeping tablets for 1 year now. tonight i will take 2 melatonin 3mg bio-melatonin sleeping tablets and flucloxaclling 500mg antibiotic capsules at the same time. I have taken 1 flucloxacillin antibiotic capsule today so far since i have just been perscribed by the doctor today. i am meant to take 4 fluclocxacling capsules a day though.

Is what i am doing safe or not?

i did mention in the appoitment today about me taking melotonin and my mother told me earlier tonight that during the appoitment she mentioned to the doctor about me taking sleeping tablets as well. i am sure the doc would have told me today if it was a problem me taking the meltonin with the other tablets.

i can't remember though what my mother said in the appoitment earlier today.

I guess it is safe if the doc OK'd it in this manner, to be more sure you could read the Package insert/Patient information leaflet

I would at least do a Google search, and/or ask a pharmacist if you're worried. Chances are, that if there isn't a printed warning on either substance, it is not recognized as a hazard. But that doesn't mean it's safe necessarily... It just means nobody's done any studies to prove it one way or the other, and most probably nobody has had any serious problems reported. I don't know about Heath Ledger, but most cases of death by drug interaction are classic screw-ups of not reading blatantly-clear warnings... Like sleeping pills with liquor, or that kind of thing. And of course many celebrity deaths are partly or totally due to abuse of illegal drugs in the background.
