Over the past month, I have lost twenty to twenty-five pounds. (Most of it was a combination of fresh produce only and simply not eating. I am still eating fresh produce exclusively, but eating more.) I recently learned that sweet potatoes burn tons of negative or unhealthy fat all on their own. I experienced this personally, and then read about it.

I am trying to lose ten to fifteen more pounds over the next several months, but my weight loss has slowed down a ton. Chances are I have been eating less sweet potato the past couple days, but I don't know if that is why or if my weight loss is finally stagnating.

If my weight loss is stagnating, how many sweet potatoes or other fat burning foods should I start eating? I don't exercise much, aside from walking everywhere.

Disclaimer: if anyone is worried about my loss of so much weight, consider this: I am five feet, two and a half inches tall. When I started, I was nearly one hundred and sixty pounds- that is obese! I am now as low as one hundred thirty-five.

You usually lose weight faster when you start out.

That's normally true, but when I started eating sweet potatoes at the end, I lost even more weight.

It's cool that you found a way to lose weight, but it's not really a long term plan to keep the weight off, unless you can keep up your diet for the rest of your life.

Good luck with that!

You should pass along some sweet potato recipes, as I'm sure you're going to learn a lot.

What I mean is I'm only going to eat produce from now on. I just specifically mentioned sweet potatoes in this post because they burn unhealthy fat better than most fruits and vegetables.

Congratulations on your weight loss.

I agree, please post some sweet potato recipes 8)
Are you only eating raw produce, or a mix of cooked and raw?

Do you eat (healthy) fats too? Like seeds, nuts, and oils like raw coconut butter?
I'm also curious about the proportion of fruits to veggies, and green veggies to other colored veggies.

Sorry for a million questions - I have read a little about raw and vegetarian diets, and I could stand to loose more than a few pounds.

I simply bake my sweet potatoes, since it is a lot easier to eat them soft than rock hard.

I also eat a lot of eggs, cantaloupe, pineapple, tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, corn on the cob, broccoli, and carrot sticks. Sometimes I eat oranges. I used to eat a ton of bananas, but got tired of them after a while.

When I went to the store the other day, I wanted green beans, but they did not have any- not in the produce section, at least. If the grocery store I use has nuts, they are not in the produce section. I tried a coconut once, it tasted like pee or something. Then again, I think I tried it in November.

I also eat ground beef, with ketchup when I sell my plasma. The ground beef is the only thing I eat that is not fresh, and I don't even eat it every day- or every week, in some cases. Also, the only reason I use ketchup is ground beef is too plain for me. My options are either ketchup or cheese, and cheese is more expensive.

I shop at Aldi, by the way. This way, I'm able to keep my produce bill at thirty to thirty-five dollars a week, even less if I don't have school. I barely ate a thing over winter break, which was why I lost a lot of weight. Towards the end of break, I found out that sweet potatoes burn a ton of fat. My weight loss has basically stopped, probably because I stopped eating so many sweet potatoes. I have no fear, though, since I bought half a dozen pounds worth of them the other day, now I just need to bake them.
