I've been blinking constantly and it won't stop. My mom wants to talk to my neurologist. I have epilepsy, but everything has been normal except for the blinking. I'm really worried about having to go on a new medication and gaining weight. I love my clothing size. I have worked so hard for physical beauty. I've started a Slim-Fast diet. I haven't been doing it for two days, but will be starting again tonight. My diet consist of these rules:

One Slim-Fast in the morning
A fruit or vegetable snack mid-morning
A regular lunch. A regular lunch for me contains no meat what so ever
A liquid snack in the afternoon. The snack is usually a lemonade or iced tea
Slim fast again for dinner
I am forbidden to eat sweets
I am forbidden to eat potato chips
I can only have flavored drinks for when I take my medication, but after all of the pills have been swallowed no more Snapples, Vitamin Waters, or iced teas
Absolutely no soda what so ever
I can have a coffee in the morning with a touch of Coffee Mate

I also do 45 minutes on the treadmill with inclines, a speed of 2.5 and I use these things that exercise my arms.

I'm just worried that I will never be able to exercise again.

Many years ago, as in 15, I tried the slim-fast diet for a couple years after having gained weight on an antidepressant/anxiety med that wasn't right for me anyhow. I had been 120, went up to 140 on meds at age of 14, down to 120 again by 15 years old on slim fast. The rest of the diet looked similar too with little fats, etc. I was also a vegetarian though and probably not getting enough nutrients. I was also not well hydrated. Please drink water not to lose weight, but to keep your skin and organs in good shape on the inside while you keep your body fit on the outside. If you don't drink enough water, maybe nix coffee too unless you depend on it for relaxing yourself or keeping you up a little later for exercising.... Anyhow, by age 16-25, I was a size 0, but I'm also pretty short. I recommend the clothes size thing only as a way to not have to change the wardrobe if it just stresses you out to have change in your life (or shopping stress). Usually, eating enough though, without worrying about your size and shape will help your emotions a lot... almost as much as feeling that one sense of control and stability over your body staying the same. Please use moderation with the exercise more than I did. Let your body do a little of what it wants in life, like sleep, and give it rest, even if you have to set the timer and say "I'll just exercise now for 30 minutes and then do other things for a bit" or set the timer and say "hey, I deserve to not exercise from 1-3 pm today. Wow. I'm getting bossy now. I better go to bed!

One additional thing about the above diet food; for me, after about a few months of being on it, it was clear that my stomach didn't take well to Slim Fast, for whatever reason. I continued to eat it, however, since it is quite yummy if made correctly. I wouldn't want most people to try to live on it for long, even if dieting, unless their stomach is a lot tougher than mine.

Your blinking could possibly be caused by medication your on instead of your epilepsy itself. Some of those meds are known to cause things like ticks & twitches that involve blinking. Psych meds(especially antipsychotics) can cause things like that as well. The seizure med Topamax/Topiramate is occasionally used for weight loss because it causes feeling of fullness & it helps some with OCD & other mental stuff that can contribute to eating more. I took it for a month or so to help me get out of the habit of pigging out at night & I handled it well but I was only on it a short time so there might not of been enough time for side-effects to develop. I take the seizure med Neurontin/Gabapentin for OCD(it's an off-label use) & I'm doing really well on it but I take a lower dose. It may increase my appetite a tad but it's nothing compared to some of the psych meds I've been on & some of those caused ticks & twiches & blinking more. Every person is different thou so I may be lucky with the two I mentioned. They're ideas for you to possibly research & consider talking to a doc about if it comes to it.
