I don't know what this is. I don't know if I should go to the hospital or not but it's 1:33 am where I am and it seems like my lungs are clogged with mucus. I've been coughing and wheezing non-stop for an hour and a half. I can't get the stuff out and I just keep coughing on the same thing over and over again. When I try to keep myself from coughing it's like I'm holding my breath to do it. The act of breathing makes me cough. If I don't breathe I don't cough but if I inhale it's like I'm inhaling water which makes me choke. Is this bronchitis? Is this what a chest cold is? I've never had this before.

Have you tried something like Mucenix to clear your chest?

Some chest congestion is just stubborn. If that doesn't work, you probably need to see a doctor.

I had a similar thing starting last summer. I assumed it was hay fever at first but then discovered I was actually inhaling stomach acid during sleep. This made me cough and cough and cough.

Do go and see your physician as taking just one small tablet 3 times a day has got rid of my symptoms rapidly.
