I would be interested to know whether you eat an inordinate amount of salt. When I was very young I craved salt and sometimes used so much of it on, say, a steak that people could not tell it was a steak. I still crave salt.
I have googled this and found that many people like us crave salt.
Why do you think this is?

Yup. I can eat an entire large bag of chips when I get a salt craving 8O

Hopefully this isn't TMI but I seem to crave salt around a certain time-of-the-month...

I have always had lowish blood pressure and my doctor has told me 'don't restrict your sodium' when I've asked him if there was anything I could do to raise it up a bit. Sometimes it's as low as 94/68 but my doctor just shakes his head when I ask him if I'm going to faint one day and he says stuff like 'I wish more of my patients had your BP'!

So I bought a couple of different kinds of lovely sea salt (table salt's bad for you) like Himalayan Pink sea salt and Celtic Gray sea salt and I use them on dinner, salads, omelets, etc.

I've been told by my naturopath that if you crave salt it could mean your adrenal glands are weak. Your adrenals love salt - it is good for them.

You hear salt being vilified in the media but it is not all salt - just table salt as it is imbalanced. Sea salt is balanced as it has something like 80 minerals in it.

I seem to be the opposite of you. I usually avoid salt.

I used to add quite a lot of salt to my food, which people seemed to notice and think was weird. I'm trying not to now.

I don't put a lot of salt on food, but I have a lot of problems controlling my consumption of salty foods.

I've actually eaten an entire corned beef brisket in one sitting!

I tend to use a lot of salt, too, but not as much as the OP described. I eat many things with salt sprinkled on them. When I eat vegetables, I often just sprinkle salt on them (and maybe with olive oil) and eat them. I eat watermelon with salt, too.

I guess I like any food that has a strong taste in general. Very sour, bitter, spicy hot, salty. I think my preference for very salty food is just part of it. Too much salt can cause high blood pressure, kidney failure etc. So I try to reduce my salt intake but anything with little or no salt in/on it tends to taste boring/bland.

I think it's caused by conditioning. Many of the commercially available ready-to-eat foods such as pizza contain a lot of salt. We get used to it. That makes you feel something is missing when the food doesn't contain much salt. Well, that's my theory.

I love sucking on salt. Rock salts my favourite but I blame this on my love of condiments.

I love salt, ketchup, mayo, bbq sauce, vinger and lately I've started to eat small amounts of cocoa powder.
I mainly do it because I like a taste in my mouth rather than eating something to "get full"
