Ever used a machine so much it broke?

I had no idea metal could be detached so seemingly easily... after two years of usage, but somehow one of the arms completely separated from the leg that connected this crosstrainer. Isn't welding normally what's required to have that effect on metal? But somehow it still happens with normal usage.

It is build for getting used and breaking (mostly right after the guarantee has passed).
